Preparing Serbia for EU-directives Part 3
"Support to Serbian Municipalities on the Road to EU-accession": Municipal Support Package Expert - Environment"
Gästrike återvinnare have been working in Serbia since 2013 to support and strengthen the Serbian municipalities in their quest to reach the European standard in the environmental field. During 2019, we have worked with five municipalities in five different areas through agreements with SKL-international.
Zrenjanin - together with them we have developed a customer survey that will become a standard throughout Serbia next year. Together with a local consultant, Gästrike återvinnare will set out guidelines that other municipalities should be able to use as a basis in their own work with customer surveys.
Krusevac - create a regional collaboration between six municipalities for water supply / water treatment in the area. Where they will also build two new treatment plants. There, we support, among other things, the ability to meet future requirements in sustainability, skills provision, citizen service and organizational issues. This in collaboration with Gästrike Vatten.
Golubac - together with the municipality create a modern Waste Plan which would help them with the implementation of the plan.
Leskovac - create a waste plan together with the municipality and the private companies that manage the waste management in the area.
Cajetina - carried out a process in the municipality to develop their waste plan, been involved in making the plan easily accessible through a short version that has been distributed to all residents in the municipality. Cajetina - Serbia's most environmentally friendly municipality - is the goal set by the mayor and the PUC for 2021. Built up their municipal corporation's structure and is now working on implementing parts of the waste plan. Cajetina has now built Serbia's first recycling room! They have also begun construction of a recycling center.
Gästrike återvinnare together with RISE shall provide advice and support for their development of a composting plant in the municipality.
